“Parker the Pirate invites us on a fantastic voyage! Pirate Parables shares his story while inviting us to seek the treasure within each tale. The greatest treasure, however, is how readers discover their own story in these pages of wonder and woe.”

Info:

The idea for Pirate Parables was born in my own season of brokenness. In 2019, after chasing empty treasures, I hit rock bottom. It was there I discovered that God still speaks today. His voice brought healing, peace, and a new sense of purpose that I couldn’t have found on my own.

Though I’m an inventor with severe dyslexia, God began giving me parables during my quiet times. Over the past six years, I carefully journaled them and shared them with friends, who were also encouraged by their profound meaning. Those stories became the foundation of this book: 100 illustrated parables wrapped into a pirate narrative that invite readers to see themselves in the adventure and discover God’s voice for themselves.

Each parable is short and engaging, paired with hand-drawn art that makes the message memorable. They’re designed to be read one at a time, perfect for family devotions, youth groups, or even for high-school boys who don’t naturally reach for long books. Instead of religious jargon, the stories use the imagery of pirates, treasure, storms, and voyages to capture attention while pointing toward eternal truths.

Self-publishing a project of this size has not been easy, but I’ve worked with a skilled illustrator, editor, and mentors to make sure this book feels like a keepsake, something families will want to keep on the shelf and pass down. My hope is that it will be a tool for parents, especially here in Tennessee, who are looking for fresh ways to keep their kids inspired and grounded in faith.

Whether it’s given as a Christmas gift, read aloud as a family, or explored by a teenager on their own, Pirate Parables is meant to spark conversations about God’s presence and purpose in everyday life. It’s my prayer that these stories will steer young hearts toward the true treasure, knowing God’s voice and following Him with courage.
